Amy Elizabeth Meuse, age 37, of Haverhill and formerly of Saugus, passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. A beloved daughter, wife, sister, and friend, Amy left an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was the cherished wife of Heather (Dujsik) Manning-Meuse, with whom she shared six wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.
Born in Boston and raised in Saugus, Amy was the daughter of Joseph and Jeanne (Leary) Meuse. From an early age, Amy stood out for her energy, kindness, and infectious spirit. She attended Saugus High School, where she made a name for herself both on the soccer field and in the marching band.
A gifted trumpet player and fierce competitor on the soccer pitch, Amy was a well-rounded student-athlete who inspired teammates and classmates alike. Amy continued her passion for soccer at Endicott College, where she not only played the sport she loved but also pursued her academic goals with determination.
She earned her Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration in 2011, reflecting her commitment to supporting and uplifting others through sports. Her love of athletics would ultimately play a role in one of the most meaningful chapters of her life—meeting and falling in love with Heather, her wife and partner, whom she married in 2018.
Professionally, Amy worked as a legal assistant at Doherty, Cella & Keane, LLP, where her diligence, humor, and compassion earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. But it was perhaps her nearly two decades of service at Brooksby Village Senior Living that best showcased her gift for connecting with others. Whether serving drinks, lending a listening ear, or making someone smile, Amy found joy in lifting the spirits of those around her.
Amy had a talent for spreading happiness. She loved organizing special events, including a surprise anniversary party for her parents, and her commitment to others was evident in every aspect of her life. Her warmth and kindness extended to her family, friends, coworkers, and especially to her stepdaughters, Allison and Rebecca Manning of Haverhill, with whom she shared a special and loving bond.
In addition to her wife, stepdaughters, and parents, Amy is survived by her brothers, Scotty and Joey Meuse, and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Meuse, all of Tewksbury; and her mother-in-law, Rosemary Dujsik of Stoneham.
She was predeceased by her loving grandparents Francis “Skip” Leary, Eileen Leary, F. Harold Meuse, and Elizabeth “Betty” Meuse, as well as her uncle David Leary and cousin David Leary, whose memories she always held close to her heart.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Amy’s memory may be made to the Saugus Youth Soccer Association, a cause dear to her heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home in Saugus on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
